When asked for help, how do you respond? At the heart of Jesus’ healing a man with leprosy is His willingness. Instead of being offended because someone with a need approached Him, Jesus was willing, willing to reach out with compassion to make a life-changing difference in another person’s life. Don’t underestimate your ability to make a difference in someone’s life simply by being willing to get involved. What opportunities will you have today to reach out and touch another person’s life?
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.—Mark 1:40-42
Prayer: Jesus, let my hands be moved by Your willingness to get involved, by Your compassion for other people’s needs. Make me more like You. I pray in Your name, Amen.
