A Life Transformed by Jesus

From the journal of Mary Nguyen Thi Kim Yen in Vietnam who recently completed the Ignite student training:

“Awakening” is the significant word that remains with me after participating in Ignite student training.  During the training, there is no term like “have to” or “must” but all is a calling to “influence” another by following Jesus’ model. I was reminded to think carefully before making decisions and first ask myself ‘What does God want from me?’

I realized I am not living on an island. I and those around me are invited to serve people with the gifts God has given us: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”(Matthew 20:28) Moreover, I was extremely touched by the part about the unconditional love of God. I feel like a prodigal son now called by God. I will apply what I learned today to my work and my daily life!
