What are you carrying around in your hands today? Unconfessed sin? Worry? Unrelenting pressure or illness? When we cling to these things, they weigh us down, cloud our thinking and, most importantly, keep our world centered on ourselves instead of Jesus. When we surrender our whole selves to Him, the good and the bad, we re-center our lives around the only One who can make a transform us and our world.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”—John 16:33
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for inviting me to bring my troubles to You. Thank You for entering into the ups and downs of this world. I give You all the things I’ve been trying to carry on my own: my sin, my stress, my worry. Thank You for taking them and giving me peace in exchange. Be the center of my life. In Your name I pray, amen.
