Twenty-five years after God called Abraham, Isaac was born. Twenty-five years of learning to live by faith. Abraham and Sarah journeyed with God from their home in Mesopotamia to the Promised Land, but more importantly, they learned of God’s mercy, forgiveness, and grace. Where has God taken you in your journey of faith?
Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him.—Genesis 21:1-3
Prayer: O Lord, the promise-fulfilling God of Abraham, who calls me to journey by faith in Your promises! Thank You for calling me, thank You for showing me mercy, forgiveness, and grace as I learn what it means to live by faith. I trust You to fulfill Your promises as I walk with You day by day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
