Can you imagine Simon Peter’s mother-in-law telling others about how Jesus healed her? All she knew was that one moment she was incapacitated, caught up in her own suffering, unable to make herself well, and then came the touch of a hand on hers. Relief, health, wholeness, clarity, strength, energy flowed into and through her being. Other people came into focus. Purpose and grace transformed her existence. Where do you need His touch today?
Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.—Mark 1:30-31
Prayer: Oh Lord, I need Your touch. Free me from what binds me. Infuse my life with Your life-giving power. Bring the world around me into focus. Fill me with Your grace and power to serve others. In Your name I pray, Amen.
