One day, after Pharaoh’s chief cupbearer had been reinstated in his leadership position, he realized that he had forgotten to fulfill his promise to Joseph. At that moment, he had a choice to make. He could fulfill the promise, although doing so meant making himself vulnerable, or he could simply keep quiet. He chose to make it right, and it made a larger difference for him and others than he could have imagined. What will you do when faced with a similar situation?

Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I am reminded of my shortcomings.—   Genesis 41:9

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being a God who opens our eyes to opportunities to make things right. When You show me that I need to apologize, to forgive, to make something right, help me to follow through, regardless of the cost to myself. Give me humility and confidence to lead like Jesus today, I pray in His name, Amen.
