• Confident Assurance

    Devotionals | August 04, 2021

Paul was certain of God's call in his life, even as he wrote from a place of imprisonment. When we know who we are in Christ Jesus, our circumstances may shape the out working of our calling, but they do not keep us from accomplishing all that God wants to do through us. Due to his imprisonment, rather than simply traveling and speaking in person to churches, Paul wrote letters that have since become part of the New Testament. His commitment in adversity has blessed millions through the millennia.

  • A New Normal

    Devotionals | August 02, 2021

Jesus calls us to a new normal, a new way of living and leading, one that reflects the reality of His calling and the transforming power of His Spirit. No longer are we to follow the world’s patterns, allowing culture to dictate our perspective and practices. Instead, God wants to permanently realign our thinking and behavior so that leading like Jesus becomes a normal part of how we live. Do you want the normal, everyday pattern of your life to reflect Jesus to others?

  • Navigate Life’s Storms

    Blog | Gilbert Camacho | August 02, 2021

Hurricane Season, typically June through November, marks a period of uncertainty and anxiety, especially in the Southern US.  Hurricanes don’t develop all at once instead they progress through stages:  Tropical Wave, Tropical Disturbance, Tropical Depression, Tropical Storm, and Hurricane.   A storm’s ability to cause damage, as it grows in intensity, is measured in categories ranging from least severe (Category 1) to total destruction (Category 5).   While Hurricanes can cause great damage, they seldom catch us by surprise.  Technology allows us to use reconnaissance aircraft and weather b

  • In Service of the King

    Devotionals | July 30, 2021

Who do we serve? Whose goals, values, methods drive us? Scripture is clear that words alone are not sufficient evidence that we know God. Only as we deny ourselves and embrace God's purposes, God's plan, and God's principles will we see God's vision of reality come to pass. This is what Jesus was committed to, in word and in action. This was the focus of His whole life. Ask God what it would look like for you to exchange your goals, values, and methods for His. How will you live differently today because of what He is telling you?

  • Whatever

    Devotionals | July 28, 2021

‘Whatever’ is one of those words we hear and say in general ways. Often, it is used in a derogatory sense to criticize another person or to dismiss what people say. Paul uses it very differently from modern culture. He uses ‘whatever’ in the sense of everything. Everything in our lives, He says, is to reflect the reality of the transforming power and presence of our Lord Jesus. Jesus, the first disciples, and the writers of the New Testament would agree with him. Jesus comes to redeem every aspect of our lives. Whatever you do today, remember that you represent Jesus to the world.

  • El Berith: The God of The Covenant

    Blog | Sheryl Giesbrecht | July 27, 2021

The only One who keeps every promise He has ever made to us is our covenant God: El Berith. Our God is a covenant-keeping God. He always keeps His promises. Even when the fulfillment of these promises is still in the future and unseen, Christ-centered hope must be the foundation of our lives. Hard times come and hard times go, but God’s promises are forever.

El Berith. Our God is a covenant-keeping God.

  • Words of Value

    Devotionals | July 26, 2021

What if we valued people around us for who they are? What if we accorded people with the same dignity and respect God has showered on us? What if we saw in them the image of God? As we talk with people or tell others about them, what if we affirmed the impact their contributions (real or potential) make? How would making these 'what ifs' a reality transform their lives, your relationships, and the world around you? Who can you love, serve, and affirm today? How can you use your words to make a positive difference in someone else’s life today?

  • Devoted to Prayer

    Devotionals | July 23, 2021

Prayer is not only a habit that sustains us as we lead like Jesus; prayer is one of the most important ways that we can influence others. When we pray for those we lead, we are speaking to the One who has the ability to meet them at their point of need. By praying for them, we are inviting God’s influence, His wisdom, strength, and encouragement, into their lives. Who is God prompting you to pray for? Will you join Him in the work He wants to do in shaping them to live, love, and lead like Jesus?

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.—Colossians 4:2
